Cally Bright is head of the DUI Homicide Unit where she prosecutes DUI homicides, vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated, and DUI cases involving serious injuries. She was recognized with MADD’s “Prosecutor of the Year” award for the entire State of California in 2014. Before taking on her current position, she worked in El Cajon prosecuting all types of cases including murders, rape, theft, and drug cases. From the fall of 2008 until January 2013, she was assigned to a vertical prosecution position in the South Bay branch prosecuting DUI cases that caused death or serious injury. She also oversaw all DUI cases that had an aggravating factor such as prior convictions, high blood alcohol, minors in the vehicle, or when the defendant was under the age of 21.
