Master Sgt. Felipe Nuño served in the US Air Force and is a veteran of Operation Desert Storm in the Persian Gulf. He currently serves as a First Sergeant assigned to the 349th Air Force Base, California and he is only one of three instructors certified to teach diversity training in the United States for the AFRC (Air Force Reserve Command). He also served as the President of the LULAC (League of United Latin American Citizens Council) chapter at Travis AFB.
An active member of the South Bay community, he’s the immediate past President of the District Advisory Committee for the Sweetwater Union High School District, and an active member and the primary representative for the District English Learner Advisory Committee (DELAC) at the San Ysidro School District.
In addition, he’s the Chairperson of the Otay Mesa Parks and Recreation Board and he serves on the board of directors for the Otay Mesa Planning Committee.
He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from California State University Stanislaus. Maintenance Group at Travis
